MUSIC UNITES HEARTS.

On October 1, the 2nd day of the festival, organized within the framework of the “ItARTs” project in cooperation with the “ALFREDO CASELLA” conservatory in the Italian city of L’Aquila, continues at the Berdakh Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theater and the Nukus branch of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. Today, at the Berdakh Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theater, the ballet “Nazlımxan sulıw” by the Honored Art Worker of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan, laureate of the Berdakh State Prize, K. Zaretdinov, was presented to Italian audiences. The beautiful stage decorations, elegant dances, and wonderful melodies of Karakalpak national music made a great impression on the Italian guests.

ITALYAN MUSIC ON THE KARAKALPAK SCENE

As previously reported, a memorandum of cooperation based on an international grant was signed with the ALFREDO CASELLA Conservatory in L’Aquila, Italy, on February 15th of this year.   Based on the memorandum, a festival was organized on September 30th and October 1st of this year at the Nukus branch of the Uzbekistan State Conservatory and the Berdaq Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theatre, in collaboration with Italian artists and cultural figures and the Nukus branch of the Uzbekistan State Conservatory, within the framework of the ITARTs project.   The first day of the festival took place in high spirits on September 30th of this year at the Berdaq Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theatre. In the first part of the concert, the “Jayhun” folk music orchestra, laureate of republican and international competitions (director: Hikmat Rajabov, artistic director of the orchestra, recipient of the “Shuhrat” medal, Honored Youth Mentor of Karakalpakstan, Professor), presented: JOACCINO ROSSINI, Overture from the opera “The Prince of Seville”; Eduardo di Capua, Giovanni Capurro “O Sole Mio”; “POPURRI” BASED ON THE WORKS OF ITALIAN COMPOSERS. Luigi Danza “Funiculi-funicula” Ernesto De Curtis “Vernis-Sorrento” Joaquino Rossini’s “The Cavatina of Figaro” Giuseppe Verdi’s “Tall Song”   Famous works of Italian musical art were performed with exceptional skill.   And in the second part, by Italian students. Donne all’Opera: Croce and Delizia! Monteverdi, F. Cavalli, D. Scarlatti, D. Chimarosa, J. Rossini, J. Verdi, J. Scenes from Puchchini’s operas were performed.   At the end of the event, the director of our branch expressed special gratitude to the Italian guests.

New educational institution for the future generation

The Nukus branch of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, established at the initiative of our esteemed President, has been operating for over four years. In a short period of time, our branch has trained holders of state scholarships, recipients of the state award “Mard o’g’lon,” the badge “Umid uchquni,” as well as winners of international and national competitions.   In the year of the branch’s establishment, 47 students were admitted, and today their number is 241.   In 2025, our first graduates successfully completed their studies, 10 students were admitted to master’s programs, and the remaining students were 100% employed. This year, a total of 61 students were admitted to study in 5 areas.  The Nukus branch of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan began the 2025/2026 academic year in a new building. The new building of the branch is designed for 300 places, and all conditions have been created for the education of students.   On September 30, the grand opening of the new building of the Nukus branch of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan took place.   The opening ceremony was opened by the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan A. Orynbaev, who sincerely congratulated those gathered on the opening of the new building.   The торжественное мероприятие continued with the wonderful performances of the orchestra, consisting of students of the branch.

The presentation of the ItARTS project took place.

Since September 26, 2025, Italy and Uzbekistan have met at a unique crossroads of culture, music and art. The festival called “ItARTS Festival The Debut” began its activities on September 26 with the opening of an exhibition of Italian artists and students at the Ikuo Hirayama International Cultural Caravan Palace of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and the opening concert of the installation projects Giovani Sguardi”, “Vèstiti di Teatrum: viaggio nel costume tra sogno e realtà” and “Le Macchine della Tempesta” dedicated to theater machines, costumes and stage images at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, as well as a grand opening concert. On the second day of the festival, a concert program entitled “Sounds of the Mediterranean and the East. Italian and Uzbek music” was presented as part of the ItARTS project of the National Institute of Pop Art named after Botir Zakirov. The concert was opened by Daniela Macchione, the general coordinator of the ItARTS project, and Mukhamedova Feruza Nurmakhmatovna, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations of the Botir Zokirov National Institute of Pop Art. During the concert program, students of the Botir Zokirov National Institute of Pop Art skillfully performed popular Italian pop songs: Come vorrei – Daniele Farina, Cristiano Minellono – (Ricchi e Poveri) Ja tebia liubliu – Massimiliano Spina, Giuseppe Rinaldi “Caballà” Mori, Francesco Berlincioni – (Adriano Celentano) . Debut of the ItArts Festival

The concert program “Debut of the itARTS Festival” will take place on September 30, 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theater named after Berdak in collaboration with the Nukus branch of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan and the Italian Conservatory named after ALFREDO CASELLA.We look forward to seeing you at the concert.
